This year has been an exciting time for us here at ARIN, so we thought we’d take a peek at some fun numbers from 2014. Some of these you’ll probably expect – like how many IP addresses we’ve issued throughout the year, and others you probably won’t – like how many cups of coffee we’ve drunk (yes, we’re a bunch of coffee addicts). Enjoy these stats as we reflect on our year!

ARIN by the Numbers
  • 71,161 /24s of IPv4 blocks issued (includes end users and ISPs)
  • 103 vacuum pots of coffee brewed
  • Approximately 20 ARIN Online improvements made
  • 9,010 + calls received at the RSD Help Desk

  • 1 Movember themed sprint planning demo complete with mustaches
  • 165 ARIN announcements to the community on arin-announce mailing list
  • 1,957,790 user sessions (3.5% growth over previous year) and 1,037.516 unique visitors (0.7% over 2013) to www.arin.net static site
  • 6 fellows who attended their first ARIN meeting as part of the Fellowship Program
  • 445 IPv6 blocks issued to both end users and ISPs
  • 3,817 phone calls taken in our Financial Services Department

  • 34,822 pages views and 21,509 user sessions on 23 April 2014 when we announced we’d entered Phase 4 of the IPv4 Countdown plan making this our largest day of web traffic ever

  • 858 total LinkedIn followers
  • 4,231 individuals subscribed to arin-announce
  • 21,200 invoices sent out

  • 30 suggestions submitted to ARIN
  • 491,569,720 IPv6 whois queries so far in 2014
  • 3 new faces and 6 returning ones elected to the Board and Advisory Council during fall elections
  • 130.4% increase in traffic from mobile devices and a 70.8% increase in traffic from tablets to our website
  • 22 draft policies proposed, the highest since 2007
  • 17 year milestone reached this year with ARIN’s incorporation as a nonprofit in 1997
